Berenice Espinoza was first exposed to the professional fundraising world when she was a student at the University of Houston and member of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and AFP-UH. As a member, Berenice fundraised for multiple philanthropic projects and discovered that fundraising was her not only her calling but her passion. She completed development internships at the Children’s Museum of Houston and Baylor College of Medicine before starting her current role as Development Associate at Texas Hearing Institute. In her role at Texas Hearing Institute, Berenice manages annual fund campaigns, volunteers, donor database and serves as a United Way representative for the agency. 

Berenice received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on Nonprofit Management. She proudly serves on the AFP Greater Houston Chapter Board of Directors as of 2019. Outside of fundraising, Berenice enjoys being outside for long walks and hikes, is an iced coffee aficionado, and loves spending time with her cat, Lucy.
