MEMBERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

This scholarship will financially assist with your one-year membership to AFP Global as well as to the local AFP Greater Houston chapter. The Association of Fundraising Professionals exists to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals and the profession. Being a member provides you with a gateway into the Associations' resources.

Small Staff Non-Profit Organization Scholarships 

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS 

The 2024 Membership Scholarship Applications will be open and awarded during the following cycles: 

Cycle 1: Opens January 5, Closes March 25. Recipients notified by April 8.
Cycle 2: Opens April 4, Closes May 3. Recipients notified by May 17. 
Cycle 3: Opens June 6, Closes July 18. Recipients notified by July 30. 
Cycle 4: Opens September 5, Closes October 18. Recipients notified by October 29. 

Awards: We award grants that cover the cost of annual dues for AFP Global, including the chapter dues for AFP Greater Houston.

 Requirements after Award/Membership:

  • Volunteer and join a committee of their choice. This may be a standing or ad hoc committee.
  • Recruit at least one new member
  • If requested, provide a testimonial about your experience receiving the scholarship for AFP Houston to use in communications. 

** This is the one scholarship that you do not need to be a current AFP member to apply**

SMALL STAFF NON-PROFIT ORG MEMBERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS 

We also offer scholarships for small non-profit organizations to join AFP. To qualify for this scholarship, your organization must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must be a nonprofit organization 
  • Need to have an operating budget of less than $2,000,000
  • Your fundraising department has less than two (2) Full time equivalent (FTE) staff
  • You are individually incorporated or otherwise organized as a separate entity; and 
  • You are not affiliated with a larger institution supporting your operations.

Requirements after award/membership: 

  • Serve on one AFP Greater Houston committee. 
  • Be willing to write a testimonial about receiving the scholarship should you be requested to do so. 

You will be notified if you receive a scholarship, but note that we keep all applications on file for the entire calendar year should we have additional funds to give out. Scholarships awarded cover one year of membership with AFP Global as well as AFP Greater Houston.
