The Servant-Leader Notion of Healing and Self-Healing
Recent research suggests two-thirds of fundraisers are (or will be) actively looking for new work this year, and it’s not just emerging staff — those most at risk of departing have one-to-two decades of experience. Caring for fundraisers at different stages of their careers is a top priority.

Nonprofits are amazing. They deliver life-changing programs, research, and more to impact communities. Philanthropy supercharges nonprofits to go forward—but it’s about more than money. It’s about trust. It’s about storytelling. It’s about big relationships. It’s about doing the right thing. It’s about meaningful conversations. Servant-leadership inspires all this and more. But, how do we care for ourselves as fundraisers? Join us on March 22nd as we explore the misconceptions associated with servant leadership and dive into the servant-leader notion of "healing" — particularly the self-healing we, as fundraisers, need to lead. The goal for this session is a collaborative conversation. Please come equipped with questions surrounding your journey as a fundraiser: Board Member Issues, Fractures in the Organization and Burnout Journeys. Let's learn how to lead the self-healing of ourselves, our staff and our organizations.

We will review the top reasons for leaving given by fundraisers, explore how these resonate with attendees, and discuss as a group how we can encourage incremental change with our teams and throughout our organizations.
